How much would the materials for something like this cost? it looks amazing!

Maybe $20, with half of that being the crystal. Without shipping costs included though.

That seems a lot cheaper than I originally thought, and you hand crafted this?

Maybe 4 or 5 oz of the 18g 5/32" rings from theringlord.com/cart/shopdispl…, and the pendant was around $8 from www.artbeads.com/6040-bls30.ht….   The problem is nickel silver rings are getting hard to find.  I've made an identical copy to this one out of brass too.  However, the nickel silver gives it that vintage look that I was going for.

As far as handcrafted, yes, I put the rings together one at a time using standard bent chain nose pliers, and patience. :)

I try and come up with at least a few things different.  Not always that easy in the craft. :)

are the links all chain mail links? may I ask how long something like that would take to complete?

Yes, they are all just saw-cut rings that many would use for chainmail, in a fairly standard chainmail weave too, all put in place one at a time.  This wasn't too bad of a project, at maybe 8-10 hours.
